Showcase Dinner at Exeter College

The Apprenticeship Team were invited to Exeter Colleges restaurant on the 18th October for a 4 course showcase dinner cooked by their level 3 Apprentices.

This was the second year Exeter College has put on the event due to the first time going so well. The members to attend from the Apprenticeship Team were myself and Tracey Mills. On arrival we were greeted, had our coats hung up and offered a drink. After a brief bit of socialising we sat at our tables ready for the first course to be served. Lucky for us we had some great company and were sat with Radio Exe, Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation and also Ella & Kira from Exeter College.

First Course, Mackerel Escabeche
Second Course,  Braised beef cheek, smoked marrow
and oxtail and game chips
Second Course, Puy lentil gallette (V)
Third Course, Gin and Tonic sorbet
Four Course, White chocolate and apple

With a tea or coffee to end the evening we were all feeling quite full by this point. Overall the evening was a huge success. The colleges hospitality students were all very professional and did a great job. Well done to the talented level 3 apprentices who cooked our 4 lovely courses. Lastly, thanks is in order to Ella, the colleges apprentice for organising the event, everything ran smoothly and it was a very enjoyable evening.

  1. Damn, that's good looking food. Seems the students have gotten better since I last went there.
